Contempt ?

This is really interesting. Karunanidhi says yoga keeps him going. Yoga is a philosophical school established by Sage Patanjali in third century BC. Sage Patanjali was a hard core theist. It is interesting to note that people are furtive enough to use the best aspects of Hinduism while showing great aversion to the system that preserved them.

All those folks who took the words of such people have either died or realized that it is just a gimmick.

Hi Kasthuri,

Iam no supporter of any party. I think the Dravidian parties are fooling us no end.

However I think here Yoga is seen as a system of physical and breathing exercises. It is not important that Mr. K should subscribe to the same ideology as Patanjali or because he went to Yoga Classes he should also subscribe to theism...

Overall, I admire Mr. K enthusiasm to learn something at the age of 82.

@ tj : Well said. Cool analogy. But its sad that there are people who follow him even now.

@ tt : Bayangaramaana O-lu :-)

@ arvind : Do I need to watch even after seeing this ? :-)

@ ram : I agree that he need not subscribe to Patanjali's ideology or yoga's theism. I stated the theism of Patanjali to show the contrast. However, I am concerned about the aversion he shows towards Hinduism (esply. Brahmins) while greatly benefiting from the yoga which is an integral aspect of Hindu spirituality. Does he ever talk bad about Islam or Chirstianity ?

@ krishna : I too liked the analogy that TJ gave.

@ arjuna : Very well said. :-)

Dear Kasthrui, and all other fellow bloggers

this person's double standards are well known. why bother about what he says, for indifference is a greater reply to this gentleman than words.

@ Anand : True...its better to ignore these things.

@ Paavai : mmm...There is no limits for double standards as u say.

@ Vatsan : What u say is true, we have to learn from everything but at the same time should acknowledge the system which taught us, right ?

@ Thennavan : It was a good post. Thanks for stopping by.

@ tt : There it goes. :-) Thanks.

@ parvati : If we want to debate the hypocrisy and opportunistic attitude of politicians I am sure we can do that for ages. I don't want any heated debate in this blog. However, I think you didn't get the true spirit in this post.
You say " You do the same thing when you go to the US. Dont you like the...". I agree that I came for better educational opportunities and the jobs available here. But I don't say anything bad about American culture or their food. Just because I do not subscribe to it doesn't mean that I hate it. I infact like the american culture and their way of life. I am taking about courtesy and not hypocrisy. Mr.K need not subscribe to theism or Hinduism as I spoke about it in Vatsan's comment. And I think playing devil's advocate is not a big deal after all.
